The company since incorporation, has worked with many of the major companies and consultancy’s within the Rail Industry.

Clients and Projects undertaken to date:

Serco Railtest – Unattended Track Geometry Project

OTDS worked closely with the client to help develop and implement their new Unattended Track Geometry System onto a Merseyrail Class 507 Vehicle and Bogie. OTDS produced all the 3D conceptual model designs and 2D manufacturing detail drawings.

Serco Rail Operations – Loram C2101 Water / Fuel Tank Design

OTDS produced all the 3D models and 2D manufacturing detail drawings for the design of a new 6000 litre Water and Fuel Tank for the Loram Rail Grinder.

OTDS also provided the client with both Project Management and FEA support throughout the project.

Serco Rail Operations – Loram C2102 and C2103 Toilet and Wash Station Modules

OTDS is currently producing all the 3D models and 2D manufacturing detail drawings for the design of 2 unique modules for the Loram Rail Grinder.

OTDS is also providing the client with both Project Management, FEA and Electrical support throughout the project.

Atkins Rail – Vehicle 3D Models

OTDS worked closely with the Industrial Designers of Atkins Rail to produce all the 3D models of a donor vehicle that would be imported into 3D Studio Max for creating into visualisations for their client.

Balfour Beatty Rail Plant – NTC Clipping Buggies

This work started back in May 2004 and the brief was to design two unique buggies that were able to interface to the host Clipping Powered Wagon that entered service in the NTC conciss in November 2004. Both buggies are completely interchangeable from the framework downwards. These buggies are designed for specific duties in the installation of both E-Clips and Vossloh spikes. The design project was completed within 16 weeks prior to manufacture. OTDS also provided its client with both manufacture and installation support

Balfour Beatty Rail Plant – NTC Clipping Wagon Support Framework

In conjunction with the clipping buggies project OTDS designed the support structure and framework for the location of the buggies as well as designing the structural framework for the E-Clip preparation seating. OTDS also provided its client with both manufacture and installation support

Balfour Beatty Rail Plant – NTC Sleeper Pods (Manufacture Support)

OTDS supplied manufacture support to its client whilst the Sleeper Pods were being manufactured in Poland.

Interfleet Technology – NTC Sleeper Pods Support Bracket Assessment

This contract was under the direction and control of the client for the purpose of designing new support brackets for both the Sleeper Pod and also for the Wagon. OTDS produced all the conceptual design models for the new bracketry.

Prominent Pictures and Communications – Optical Connector Drawing

This project, although small was detailed and delivered back to the client within the day.
